Privacy policy
Quiet Page does not collect, transmit, sell or share your data. There are no accounts, analytics, ads or tracking, and the developer never receives anything from the extension.
What it handles, and where it stays
- Pages you convert. When you press the Quiet Page button (or its keyboard shortcut), it reads the article on that tab to make a clean copy. It never reads pages you haven’t asked it to convert, and it doesn’t run in the background on the sites you visit.
- Pages you collect. When you press Collect, the page’s text, title, web address and your image choices are saved in your browser on your computer. You can delete collected pages at any time. Removing the extension deletes all of them.
- Display preferences. Your text size, typeface and default image size are saved with Chrome’s sync storage. If you use Chrome Sync, Chrome may copy these settings between your own devices. They contain no page content.
Network requests
Images in a clean copy load from the website they came from, just as they would on the original page. When you download a collected page, the extension may fetch its images from those same websites so it can store them inside the file. No information about you is sent to the developer or to anyone else.
Permissions
- activeTab and scripting: read the article on the current tab, only when you press the button.
- storage and unlimitedStorage: keep your collected pages and preferences in your browser.
- contextMenus: add “Open library” when you right-click the toolbar button.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
